Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART)

CAPART was formed by mandate of the 7th Five-Year Plan in 1986 as a nodal agency for coordinating the partnership between voluntary organizations and the government for sustainable development of rural areas.

  • It was formed by the amalgamation of two agencies, the Council for Advancement of Rural Technology and People’s Action for Development India.
  • CAPART is an autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860, and functions under the aegis of the Ministry of Rural Development.
