On 27th August, 2021, 11th Meeting of BRICS Agriculture Ministers was held virtually. India is chairing the BRICS grouping for 2021.
Key Deliberations
The theme of the meeting was “BRICS Partnership for Strengthening Agro Biodiversity for Food and Nutrition Security”.
BRICS Agriculture Research Platform (BARP): There is need to make the platform, developed by India, functional and encourage research cooperation to improve the use and application of agricultural technologies for meeting the needs of producers and processors.
The platform aims to promote cooperation in the areas of agricultural research, extension, technology transfer, training and capacity building.
