Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI)

AWBI is a statutory body established in 1962 with headquarters at Chennai.

• Its mandate includes advising the government on animal welfare issues, and creating awareness in animal welfare and to implement the regular schemes of AWBI and also the central sector schemes for the welfare of animals.
