WHO Data on India’s Childhood Immunisation Coverage
On 15th July, 2024, World Health Organization (WHO) released data on India’s Childhood immunization coverage in its WHO and UNICEF Estimates of National Immunisation Coverage (WUENIC).
- Based on country-reported data, the annual WHO and UNICEF Estimates of National Immunization Coverage (WUENIC) provide the world’s largest dataset on immunization coverage trends for 16 vaccines/antigens/doses across 195 WHO and UNICEF Member States.
Major Highlights
Drop in Vaccination
- In absolute terms, 2.04 million children remained under-vaccinated in 2023, slightly lower than the 2.11 million children in 2019. The “slight” drop is a call to intensify efforts.
