Corporate Debt Market Development Fund
On 28th July, 2023, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs inaugurated the Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF) in Mumbai.
- She also initiated the trading on Limited Purpose Clearing Corporation mechanism called AMC Repo Clearing Limited (ARCL).
About CDMDF
- It is a backstop facility for specified debt funds during market dislocations.
- It will be in the form of an alternative investment fund (AIF), meant to instill confidence among the participants in the corporate bond market during times of stress.
Main Purpose
- To serve as a safety net for designated debt funds in times of debt market strain.
