Travel and Tourism Competitive Report
World Economic Forum released the biennial ‘Travel and Tourism Competitive Report’. 140 countries were studied in the report.
- There are 4 broad indicators – enabling environment; travel and tourism policy and enabling conditions; infrastructure; and natural and cultural rankings. These 4 indicators consider 14 variables which are further subdivided into 90 indicators.
- India ranked 34th, up by six places from 2017. It has made the greatest improvement since 2017 among the top 25 per cent of the countries that were previously ranked.
- India’s highest improvement was in enabling environment indicator, by 10 places to 98. The least improvement is in infrastructure as well ....
