PurpleFrog
- An intriguing frog species, listed as endangered in the red list of IUCN, could soon be designated as Kerala’s state amphibian.
- The state refers the Purple frog, as the ‘Maveli’ frog.
- This purplish, puffy termite-eater with a blister for a nose is native to the Western Ghats of India and has apparently been around since the age of the dinosaurs.
- Researchers have found that the Purple frog (Nasikabatrachussahyadrensis), which lives almost its entire life in underground tunnels, comes out to the surface for a single day in a year to breed. ....
