Leader of Opposition
- In the 17th Lok Sabha Election, none of the political parties were able to secure minimum 10% of strength (55 members) required to be eligible for Leader of Opposition post.
- It is a statutory post defined in the Salaries and Allowances of Leaders of Opposition in Parliament Act, 1977.
- LoP enjoys the rank of a Cabinet Minister and is a member of panels that select candidates for key Constitutional and statutory posts like CVC, CBI Director, Lok Pal ....
