Genome India Project
- Union government has given clearance to an ambitious gene mapping project known as the Genome India Project with an estimated worth of Rs 238 crores. The project has been described as the “first scratching of the surface of the vast genetic diversity of India”. It involves 20 leading institutions including the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru and a few IITs.
