Youth Consciousness for Freedom in Bengal
- The partition of Bengal was announced by British on 16th July 1905 by Viceroy Lord Curzon.
- The Bengal anti-partition movement introduced twin weapons of Swadeshi (use of indigenous goods) and Boycott (of British-manufactured goods).
- The Young Bengal movement emerged as a catalyst for India’s national awakening and desire for independence.
- Barindra Kumar Ghosh (born on 5th January 1880) started a Bengali weekly titled Jugantar (1906) and formed a secret revolutionary group with same name. He was involved in Alipore Bomb case (1906).
