​DRIPS Portal for Disaster Resilience

On 20th August 2024, Union Minister of Power and Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs unveiled the DRIPS (Disaster Resource Inventory for Power Sector) portal in New Delhi.

  • The portal aims to enhance disaster preparedness and response by facilitating the rapid identification and deployment of power sector resources during emergencies.

Need for DRIPS

  • Recent Disasters: Natural disasters such as Cyclone Fani, severe floods in Jammu & Kashmir, and extensive flooding in Kerala have highlighted the vulnerability of infrastructure, particularly in the power sector.
