The Right to Repair campaign demands that manufacturers provide users with genuine parts so that, if they so want, they may have their equipment fixed by independent shops as well.
- Several nations, including the US, the UK, and the EU, recognise it.
- Issues with Right to Repair: Large Tech companies including Apple, Tesla, etc. argued that it’ll open their intellectual property to third party repair services or amateur repairers could jeopardise safety and security of their devices.
