Principles for Locally Led Adaptation (LLA)

To support locally driven adaptation, the Global Commission on Adaptation (GCA) created a set of guiding principles.

  • The Principles for LLA, which were introduced at the 2021 Climate Adaptation Conference, are meant to serve as a roadmap for the community working on adaptation as it shifts practises, funding, and programmes in favour of adaptation that is increasingly controlled by local partners.
  • The GCA was founded in 2018 by the leaders of the Netherlands and the 22 other convening nations, including India, with the mission to expedite adaptation by increasing the political visibility of adaptation and concentrating on practical solutions. ....
