Dvorak Technique
American meteorologist Vernon Dvorak invented the method.
- Based on cloud patterns using satellite imagery, it is a statistical method for estimating the strength of tropical cyclones (TCs).
- It makes use of improved visible and/or infrared satellite imagery to calculate the quantitative intensity of a tropical cyclone.
- It measures the strength of TCs on a scale from 1 to 8 (at 0.5 intervals) called T-numbers, and the result is a Current Intensity (CI) ....
