Asani
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Asani formed over the southeast parts of the Bay of Bengal.
- In 2022, Asani was the first cyclonic storm to hit the North Indian Ocean.
- Sri Lanka gave it the name, which in Sinhalese means "wrath."
- Thailand has given the cyclone that develops after Asani the name Sitrang.
- Up-and-coming Indian names include Ghurni, Probaho, Jhar, and Murasu.
Favourable Conditions for Tropical Cyclones Formation
- Large sea surface with temperature higher than 27° C.
- Presence of the Coriolis force.
- Small variations in the vertical wind speed.
- A pre-existing weak low-pressure area or low-level-cyclonic circulation.
