Constitutional Provisions

  • Article 323A deals with Administrative Tribunals.
  • Article 323B deals with Tribunals for other matters.
  • Article 262 provides a role for the Central government in adjudicating conflicts surrounding inter-state rivers that arise among the state/regional governments.

Legal Provisions

  • The Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985 provides for three types of tribunals:
    • The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)
    • The State Administrative Tribunal (SAT)
    • The Joint Administrative Tribunal (JAT)

Judicial Pronouncements
