Field Trials of Indigenous MPATGM Weapon System
On 13th April, 2024, the Indian Army completed field trials of the Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) system, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
- Designed and developed indigenously, the MPATGM system comprises the missile, launchers, target acquisition device, and a fire control unit.
- Field trials involved testing the MPATGM system in various flight configurations to ensure superior performance and technology validation.
- The MPATGM system demonstrated the capability to defeat modern armour-protected main battle tanks, achieving compliance with operational requirements.
