Promulgation of Ordinances
On 19th May, 2023, the Union government promulgated the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance.
- The Ordinance established a "National Capital Civil Service Authority" consisting of the Chief Minister and two senior IAS officers, allowing them to decide matters through majority voting.
About Ordinances
- Article 123 of the Indian Constitution deals with the ordinance making power of the President. The President has many legislative powers, and this power is one of them.
- Ordinances were incorporated into the Constitution from Section 42 and 43 of the Government of India Act, 1935, which authorised the then Governor General of India ....
