  • Chilika Lake: It is located in Puri, Ganjam and Khordha districts of Odisha. This is a lake of brackish water.
    • It was designated as a Ramsar site in 1981. Approximately 160 types of birds are found in Chilika lake.
  • Greenhouse Gases: Greenhouse gases are the gases in the atmosphere that raise the surface temperature of earth. The term greenhouse gas was first used by Nils Gustaf Ekholm.
    • Carbon dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O), Ozone (O3) and water vapor are greenhouse gases.
  • Nitrogen Fixation: More than 90% of all nitrogen is fixed by soil microorganisms in the form of ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. ....
