- Launched in 2014, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme for the holistic growth of the horticulture sector covering fruits, vegetables, root & tuber crops, mushrooms, spices, flowers, aromatic plants, coconut, cashew, cocoa and bamboo.

- Inadequate Post-harvest Technologies: As most of the horticultural products are perishable, the lack of suitable post-harvest technologies and value addition facilities at the grass root level act as major roadblock for the farming community to take horticulture as primary profession.
