Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC)
- India, as a participant in the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement, submitted its initial NDC in 2015 with targets related to emissions intensity and non-fossil fuel-based energy.
- The set targets, a 33-35% reduction in emissions intensity of GDP by 2030 and 40% cumulative electric power from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030, have been achieved ahead of schedule.
- As of October 31, 2023, India's cumulative electric power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel sources is 186.46 MW, constituting 43.81% of the total.
