Mathematics and Astronomy
- The outstanding mathematician-astronomers of this period were Sridharacharya (991 CE); Sripati (1039-1056 CE), Satananda (1099 CE) Bhaskaracharya II (1150 CE).
- Terms like Pratyutpanna (reproduced) and the Kapata-Sandhi (door-junction, Gelosia) method became popular.
- Bhaskaracharya and Sridharacharya discovered the method of solving quadratic equation.
- A new development in astronomy was the introduction of Arabo-Persian-Greek Zij literature in India namely astronomical tables. Abu Fazl mentions 86 Zijs in his Ain-i-Akbari.
- An astrolabe was constructed in 1370 CE during the reign of Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq.
