Chang'e-6
- China’s Chang'e-6 probe returned historic Moon samples from the far side, a global first.
- It landed in Inner Mongolian region, northern China, on 25th June.
- Samples include 2.5-million-year-old volcanic rock, aimed to study Moon's geographical differences.
- US and Soviet missions previously sampled near side; China first to sample far side.
- Launched May 3, Chang'e-6 drilled lunar surface; completed 53-day mission.
