Industrial Biotechnology
- Industrial Biotechnology is an application of biotechnology to industrial process in developing technique for the production of different products in the wine industry, development of different vaccine and drugs.
- Industrial or ‘white’ biotechnology uses enzymes and micro-organisms to make biobased products in sectors such as chemicals, food and feed, detergents, paper and pulp, textiles and bioenergy (such as biofuels).
- The very first expression of industrial applications of biotechnology was found in the production of beer, wine, cheese, bread and other fermented products.
