InSight Mission reveals Mars’ Deep Interior
On 22nd July, the international team of NASA's InSight mission unveiled, for the first time, the internal structure of Mars. The findings are published in three papers based on the study of the seismic waves from quakes detected by NASA’s robotic InSight lander.
The InSight Mission
- A part of NASA’s Discovery Program (1992), NASA's Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) spacecraft touched down on Mars at the end of 2018.
- It is the first mission dedicated to looking deep beneath the Martian surface.
- It aims to study the deep interior of Mars to learn how all celestial bodies ....
