  • Narmadashankar Dave ‘Narmad’ born on 24th August 1833 in Surat, Gujarat, was a visionary creator, philosopher, pioneer of social justice and a poet.
  • The 19th century poet is considered to be the founder of modern Gujarati literature.His most popular work is the poem “Jai Jai Garavi Gujarat“ which is now the state anthem of Gujarat.
