Nag River Pollution Abatement Project

  • Recently government approved the Nag River Pollution Abatement Project in order to treat the sewage and industrial waste flowing into the river in Nagpur, the city named after the river.
  • The project has been approved under the National River Conservation Plan (NRCP), and will be implemented by the National River Conservation Directorate.
  • Under NRCP, central government works in collaboration with the state governments to reduce pollution load entering the rivers through interception, divergence and treatment of sewage, river front development etc.
