NASA’s Mars 2020 Mission
Recently, as a result of NASA’s ‘Name the rover’ essay contest, the rover of Mars 2020 mission got a new official name: ‘Perseverance’. The mission is part of NASA’s Mars Exploration Programme, a long-term plan chalked out for robotic exploration of the Red Planet.

- The mission is scheduled for launch in July, 2020, when Earth and Mars will be in good positions relative to each other. This will help reach Mars using less power.
