Madhav National Park Declared India’s 58th Tiger Reserve

On 9th March 2025, the Centre declared Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh as India’s 58th Tiger Reserve, making it the ninth such reserve in the state.
Key Points
- Madhya Pradesh’s 9th Tiger Reserve: Located in Shivpuri district, Chambal region, Madhav Tiger Reserve currently houses five tigers, including two cubs. Two more tigers may soon be released into the park.
- Tiger Reintroduction Project: In 2023, three tigers, including two females, were relocated to the park as part of a reintroduction initiative.
