V Narayanan Appointed as New ISRO Chief

On 7th January 2025, the central government announced the appointment of V Narayanan, a veteran scientist, as the new Chairman of ISRO and Secretary of the Department of Space, effective January 14, 2025.

V Narayanan will succeed S Somanath.
He currently serves as the Director of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) in Valiamala, Kerala.
With nearly four decades of experience, Narayanan is a distinguished scientist specializing in rocket and spacecraft propulsion.
He joined ISRO in 1984 and has held various critical roles in the organization before becoming the LPSC director.
As an expert in propulsion systems, he has significantly contributed to the development of cutting-edge technologies for India's space program.
