  • 19 Oct 2024

On 19th October, 2024, Prime Minister inaugurated the ‘Karmayogi Saptah’ (National Learning Week) in New Delhi, aimed at enhancing the capacity and skills of civil servants across India.

  • The ‘Karmayogi Saptah’, part of the larger Mission Karmayogi initiative launched in 2020, focuses on strengthening the learning and development frameworks for Indian civil servants.
  • Mission Karmayogi aims to create a future-ready civil service grounded in Indian values, but also equipped with a global outlook to meet modern governance challenges.
  • Throughout the National Learning Week, every civil servant, or “Karmayogi,” will be required to engage in a minimum of four hours of learning focused on their specific roles and competencies.
  • Participants will access role-specific training modules through the iGOT platform, and also attend webinars, public lectures, and policy masterclasses by renowned experts and policymakers.
  • The initiative underscores the idea of "One Government," aiming to align all government employees toward shared national goals and to foster a culture of lifelong learning and upskilling.
  • The ‘Karmayogi Saptah’ represents one of the largest national efforts to bolster civil service capabilities and improve citizen-centric service delivery through knowledge enhancement and skill development.
