Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Visit to Switzerland

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, made a two-day official visit to Switzerland on July 14th and 15th, 2024, to promote the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA).

  • Union Minister held talks with his Swiss counterpart Guy Parmelin to work towards achieving the goals set in Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA).
  • During the bilateral talks, both sides acknowledged that TEPA provides an excellent framework for deepening of trade and investment partnership.
  • The objectives of Minister visit to Switzerland was to discuss next steps for the implementation of the historic India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement which was signed in March 2024 in New Delhi.
  • It also aimed at identifying ways and means of realising the ambitious target of 100 billion dollars investment and creation of one million jobs in India by EFTA countries in next 15 years as provided for in the Agreement.
