India’s Drone Policy 1.0
Drones are a technological platform which has wide-ranging applications from photography to agriculture, from infrastructure asset maintenance to insurance. The drone technology is still in its nascent stage in India.
Net Neutrality Rules Approved
To ensure a free and fair digital economy that promotes inclusiveness and innovation, decentralized accessibility and free flow of data is must. However, it was observed in India that companies brought out "zero rating" packages like Facebook's Free basics service and Airtel's Airtel zero platform which allowed its customers to access a few mobile applications for free.
National Digital Communication Policy 2018
India's digital profile is one of the fastest growing in the world and by 2025, India's digital economy has the potential to reach one trillion USD. Earlier government initiatives like Bharat Net, public Wi-Fi hotspots, introduction of Virtual Network Operators, National Telecom M2M roadmap, mobile number portability, National EMF portal, open auctioning of spectrum and transition to new Internet Protocol (IPv6) have already laid the groundwork that enables creation of a vibrant telecom market to strengthen India's long term competitiveness.
Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan
While addressing the nation on 12th May, , 2020, Prime Minister of India announced an “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan” worth Rs 20 lakh crores($265 billion) to tide over the economic downturn induced by the coronavirus crisis and emphasised on the need for India to become “self-reliant” as the pandemic sweeps across the world, paralysing economies in its wake.
Agriculture Export Policy
Exports of agricultural products would play a pivotal role in achieving the goal of India becoming a 5 trillion $ economy. In order to provide an impetus to agricultural exports, the Government has come out with a comprehensive “Agriculture Export Policy” aimed at doubling the agricultural exports by 2022 and integrating Indian farmers and agricultural products with the global value chains.
National Policy On Electronics 2019
National Policy on Electronics 2019 (NPE 2019), proposed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, envisions positioning India as a global hub for Electronics System Design and Manufacturing - (ESDM) by encouraging and driving capabilities in the country for developing core components, including chipsets, and creating an enabling environment for the industry to compete globally.
Scientific Mining: National Mineral Policy 2019
In compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Mines constituted a committee on 14.08.2017 under the chairmanship of Dr. K Rajeswara Rao to review NMP 2008. The Ministry of Mines accepted the committee Report and invited the comments. Based on the received comments the Ministry of Mines finalized the National Mineral Policy 2019.

CBI: Institutional Autonomy Vs. Public Accountability
Recently, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal government withdrew “general consent” to the CBI for investigating cases in their respective states. This comes in the backdrop of internal turmoil within CBI marked by open war among the agency’s top officers as well as allegations that the Centre is using CBI to silence Opposition. This brings back the old debate of CBI being a Caged Political Parrot.
