The Ministry of Education launched a National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN).
Aim
It aims that every child in the country attains foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3, by 2026-27. It will cover children under the age of 3-9 years.
The aim is in line with the objective of National Education Policy 2020, which has laid down that attaining foundational literacy and numeracy for all children must become an immediate national mission.
