Operation GREENS

Operation Greens was launched in budget 2018-19 to ensure availability of TOP (Tomato, Onion and Potato) crops throughout the country round the year without price volatility. The scheme aims to enhance the production of TOP crops and augment its value chain.

• It has objective to enhance value realization of TOP farmers by targeted interventions to strengthen TOP production clusters and their Farmer Producer Organizations, and linking them with the market. Also, price stabilization for producers and consumers by proper production planning in the TOP clusters and introduction of dual use varieties.
