- As of June 2024, India has a total thermal installed capacity of 242.99 GW of which 210.96 GW is the installed capacity of Coal and the rest from Lignite, Diesel, and Gas.

- By FY 2031-32, the projected installed capacity requirement is 900,422 MW

- Thermal Capacity: 87,910 MW
- Hydro Capacity: 42,014 MW
- Nuclear Capacity: 12,200 MW
- Renewable Energy Capacity: 375,279 MW
Power Generation by Sector
- Private Sector: Generates 52.4% of India's power.
- State Governments: Contribute 24.1%.
- Central Government: Accounts for 23.4%.
