Special Lok Adalat
On the Occasion of 75th year of its establishment, the Supreme Court of India organised a Special Lok Adalat from 29th July 2024 to 3rd August, 2024 to facilitate amicable settlements of suitable pending cases.
Aim
- The initiative aims to expedite the resolution of various cases such as matrimonial disputes, property disputes, motor accident claims, land acquisition, compensation, and service and labour disputes.
Seven Benches of the Supreme Court
- The Special Lok Adalat involved seven benches of the Supreme Court, each comprising two Supreme Court judges, a senior advocate, and an Advocate-on-Record.
