Bond Yield Curve Inversion
- Yield curve is the graphical representation of yields from bonds.
- Under normal circumstances, as one lends for a longer duration, one gets higher yields.
- However, there are times when this bond yield curve becomes inverted (bonds with shorter tenure end up paying higher yields than bonds with longer tenure) which suggests that investors expect future growth to be weak.
