Specialty Steel
In a major feat and towards building an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has supplied about 30000 tonnes of the specialty steel for building this first swadeshi Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant for Indian Navy which was commissioned on 2nd September, 2022 at Cochin Shipyard Ltd.
About Speciality Steel
- Speciality steel is a value-added variety of the alloy wherein normal finished steel is worked upon by way of coating, plating, heat treatment, etc, to convert it into high value-added steel for use in various strategic sectors such as defence, space, power and automobiles among others.
