Amlan Borgohain: Fastest Indian
- Sprinter from Assam, Amlan Borgohain clocked 10.25s to break the six-year-old national record of Amiya Kumar Mallick (10.26s) at the 87th all-India inter-Railway athletics championships in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. He also holds 200m national record.
- In women’s category, Dutee Chand holds the National Record for the 100m sprint (11.17s).
- The current men's world record (100m) is 9.58 seconds, set by Jamaica's Usain Bolt in 2009, while the women's world record of 10.49 seconds set by American Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988 remains ....
