India Joins US-Led Minerals Security Finance Network
On 23rd September 2024, India formally became part of the Minerals Security Finance Network (MSFN), a US-led initiative aimed at securing critical mineral supply chains, as announced by the US State Department during the UN General Assembly on September 23, 2023.
About the Minerals Security Finance Network (MSFN)
- Initiative developed from the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP), established by the US in 2022.
- 14 countries and the European Union are part of the network, aiming to secure critical mineral supply chains, especially rare earth minerals.
- India was inducted into the MSP in June 2023.
