LCH ‘Prachand’
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has inducted the first batch of its indigenously built Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) 'Prachand'. It has been developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
Major Features
- Pressurised Cabin: It gives protection against nuclear radiation, or a biological or chemical attack.
- Altitude: Prachand is the only attack helicopter in the entire world which can take-off or land at an altitude of 5,000 metres while carrying heavy weapons and fuel.
- Can operate in Harsh Conditions: The LCH can operate in the world's highest and coldest battlefield Siachen, as well as hot desert regions. It can attack enemies at night.
