‘Commonwealth Sport’: New Name for CGF
- On Commonwealth Day (10th March) the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has changed its name to ‘Commonwealth Sport’.
- However, legally the name of the organization will remain 'Commonwealth Games Federation'.
- CGF is an international organization responsible for organizing and managing the Commonwealth Games.
- It was founded in 1930, and its headquarters is located in London, England.
- First games held in 1930 in Hamilton, Canada.
- These games are held every 4 years.
- Only players from Commonwealth countries participate in these games.
