Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VLSRSAM)
It is a quick reaction surface-to-air missile that the DRDO independently designed and created for the Indian Navy with the intention of neutralising a variety of aerial threats at close ranges, including targets that skim the surface of the ocean.
- Sea skimming is a method many anti-ship missiles and some fighter or strike aircraft use to escape radar and infrared detection.
