3D Printing

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a technique for creating solid, three-dimensional items from digital files.

  • Additive procedures are used to produce objects that are 3D printed.
  • In an additive process, an object is made by adding layers of material one after another until the product is made. It is possible to think of each of these levels as a finely sliced cross-section of the object.
  • Subtractive manufacturing, such as hollowing out a piece of plastic or metal with a milling machine, is the opposite of 3D printing.
