Puthandu: Tamil New Year
- On 14th April, 2023, Puthandu was celebrated in the state of Tamil Nadu.
- Puthandu, also known as Puthuvarudam, marks the Tamil New Year.
- It is the first day of the Tamil calendar or the first day of the Chithirai month.
- A special dish called 'Mangai Pachadi' is prepared on Puthandu.
