World Bank Paper on Poverty in India
On 18th April, 2022, the World Bank released a working paper, titled “Poverty in India Has Declined over the Last Decade But Not As Much As Previously Thought”.
- The paper relies on data from the Consumer Pyramid Household Survey (CPHS) released by the Centre for Monitoring the Indian Economy to deliver a new estimate on Indian poverty levels.
