Left Wing Extremism and its Varied Dimensions
Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) in India, also known as Naxalism, traces its roots to the Naxalbari uprising in West Bengal in 1967. It involves Maoist groups seeking to overthrow the Indian state through armed rebellion, inspired by Maoist ideology which advocates for a protracted people’s war to capture state power.
