China-Central Asia Summit
On May 18-19, 2023, the China-Central Asia Summit was held, which was hosted by the Chinese President. Leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan attended the summit in Xi'an, an ancient city along the historic Silk Road.
- This summit marked the first of its kind since the formal establishment of relations between China and the Central Asian nations 31 years ago.
- The primary aims of the summit were to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties between China and the Central Asian region.
