Reasons for India’s Poor Performance
- Financial Constraints: In comparison to 2020-21, the allocation for child nutrition in the Union budget 2021-22 has decreased by 18.5%. Furthermore, an examination of ICDS by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India in 2020 revealed that only Rs. 908 crore of the Rs. 1,042 crore earmarked was actually disbursed to state governments.
